Chaplain Report-Out (June 25-July 9)

Week I
Report out for 6/29/11 at Arbor Manor in Spring Arbor, MI and 7/02/11 for Fairfax Manor in
Ypsilanti, MI.
At Arbor Manor I conducted a Chapel service for 6 residents. I visited with the residents,
encouraged them in the word of God (Mark 8:22-25; Mark 10:46-52; Luke 7:2-10, 12-16, 21-22)
and prayed blessings over their lives. The scriptures dealt with Jesus healing people that were
sick. I prayed for the following:
• Strength and healing for the residents
• A pastor and his wife that recently retired
• Joy for the residents
• A woman and youth that were in a car accident
• A family for encouragement in the loss of their son
• Residents’ children, grandchildren and friends
Everyone really appreciated my time and prayers. Glory to God!
At Fairfax Manor I conducted 2 Chapel services, one for each part of the building. I ministered
to a total of 17 residents. I encouraged them in the word of God (I John 5:1-5, 13-15; Matthew
26:33-35, 67-75), read an excerpt from the devotional Streams in the Desert (July 15) and prayed
blessings over their lives. The scriptures dealt with walking with Jesus Christ by faith no matter
what we face in life. I prayed for the following:
• Residents’ family members
• Peace for the residents
• A resident in their time of bereavement
• Joy for the residents
• Residents to have strength and healing in their body.
Everyone really appreciated my time and prayers. Glory to God!
Week II
Report out for 7/6/11 at Arbor Manor in Spring Arbor, MI, for 7/9/11 at Fairfax Manor in
Ypsilanti, MI and for 7/10/11 at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility in Jackson, MI.
At Arbor Manor I conducted a Chapel service for 12 residents. I visited with the residents,
encouraged them in the word of God (Philippians 3:10-20; Romans 8:12-19; Proverbs 24:10;
Isaiah 40:28-31) and prayed blessings over their lives. The scriptures dealt with the fact that any
suffering that we face in this life can not be compared with eternal life with Jesus Christ. I
prayed for the following:
• Strength and healing for the residents
• Joy for the residents
• Healing for a resident who was not feeling well
• A resident to be able to go back to Jackson
• Residents’ children, grandchildren and friends
Everyone really appreciated my time and prayers. Glory to God!
At Fairfax Manor I conducted 2 Chapel services, one for each part of the building. I ministered
to a total of 15 residents. I visited with the residents, encouraged them in the word of God
(Philippians 3:10-20; Romans 8:12-19; Proverbs 24:10; Isaiah 40:28-31) and prayed blessings
over their lives. The scriptures dealt with the fact that any suffering that we face in this life can
not be compared with eternal life with Jesus Christ. I prayed for the following:
• Residents’ family members
• A resident to feel the love of Jesus and be led by the Holy Spirit
• Joy for the residents
• Healing for a resident’s shoulder
• A resident to be healed from her fever
• Prayer for an individual in the hospital
• Residents to have strength and healing in their body.

At Jackson County Medical Care Facility I conducted a Chapel service for a total of 14 residents.
I also visited with 2 other residents that were not able to make the service. I visited with the
residents, encouraged them in the word of God (Philippians 3:10-20; Romans 8:12-19; Proverbs
24:10; Isaiah 40:28-31) and prayed blessings over their lives. The scriptures dealt with the fact
that any suffering that we face in this life can not be compared with eternal life with Jesus Christ.
I prayed for the following:
• Strength and healing for the residents
• Residents’ children, grandchildren and friends
• Joy for the residents

Elder Allen
Week I
Heartland Allen Park- Services were not held due to my family reunion.
Tendercare Taylor- Services were not held due to my family reunion.
Westland Fidelis Home- Bible study went extremely well. Elder Allen continued ministering on
being faithful to God’s calling and being diligent in seeking Him. Elder Allen drew from the
book of Heb. 11 explaining how God seeks a faithful person to worship Him, everyone in
attendance really enjoyed service and has now continuously asked for Biblical homework
assignments to study until the next Bible session. In addition, this family is seeking a church
home, in which Elder Allen is trying to coordinate efforts to connect them with Greater Grace
Taylor.
Week II
Heartland Allen Park- Services went extremely well, there were 20 residents and 2 staff in
attendance. In addition, there were many new faces in attendance. Service began with Praise and
Worship led by Sister Allen and followed by prayer and the Word of God by Elder Allen. Elder
Allen ministered from the subject matter, “My role and responsibility in the community”. Elder
Allen explained how the family is a microcosm of the community, and how the family actions
impact the whole community. Elder Allen related this message to the nursing home being the
community and how each person has their place and a part in the community. All who were in
attendance really seemed encouraged and charged as it appeared that many recognized their
wealth and need within the nursing home community.
Tendercare Taylor- Services went extremely well, there were more than 15 residents and 4 staff
in attendance for service. Again, there were many new residents that joined service this week.
Before the start of service several residents gave a brief testimony expressing that the prayers of
the Chaplain Ministry has worked. One resident in particular explained that The G.B.W.T
Chaplain services prayed that God would touch her children and that they would come and visit
her after a year in the nursing home and the resident gave a report that her children came to visit.
In addition, the resident explained that she sees the Chaplain ministry as her family as we visit
every week.
After testimonies were given, services began with Praise and Worship led by Sister Allen
followed by prayer and the Word of God delivered by Elder Allen. Elder Allen, likewise
ministered from the subject matter, “My role and responsibility in the community”. Elder Allen
explained how the family is a microcosm of the community, and how the family actions impact
the whole community. Elder Allen related this message to the nursing home being the
community and how each person has their place and a part in the community. After service
ended many of the residents and staff were extremely delighted and expressed how good services
made them feel.
Westland Allen Park- Bible study was a success. Fidelis family of three was in attendance for
service. Elder Allen ministered out of the book of Luke and Joshua regarding obedience and not
only hearing the Word of God, but also listening and obeying the Word of God. After Bible
study concluded the family asked for more scriptures to study so that they can continue to stay
focused on God’s Word.
Pastor Jones
Week I (Missing from last report)
Utica site- 35 residents and 3 C.N.A’s were present for service. Pastor Jones ministered from the
book of Lamentation chapter 3, “Great is thy Faithfulness”. Service began with prayer and Pastor
Jones explained that all that were in attendance began to rejoice in the joy of the Lord.
Ambassador- 40 residents and 4 C.N.A’s were present for service. Pastor Jones likewise
ministered on the subject matter of “Great is thy Faithfulness” focusing on the mercy and grace
of God. Pastor Jones expressed that the staff and residents were very interested in the subject
matter and began to ask questions regarding the NT and OT similarities.
St Joseph- 15 residents, 1 program director, and 3 C.N.A.’s were present for service. Pastor
Jones ministered out of the book of Joshua on the subject matter of mercy and grace referring to
an OT scripture regarding “Aiken and the accursed thing”. Pastor Jones used parallel scriptures
in the NT to show how God’s mercy and grace is prevalent today. All who were in attendance
praised God and was thankful for the services
Week II
Utica site- Services were great! Pastor Jones arrived at the facility and all the residents were
outside. Pastor Jones asked if anyone would bring the residents in and there was no reply. Pastor
Jones began to pray inside the building and the move of God swept outside and residents began
to come into service without the help of staff. More than 40 residents and 3 staff were in
attendance for service. Pastor Jones explained that the Spirit of God was very high in service and
that residents began to rejoice in the Spirit of God.
Ambassador- Services were awesome at this site. Pastor Jones explained that every third week
another ministry comes and minister on a different side of the building in which she than
ministers on the far side of the building. As Pastor Jones opened with prayer residents began to
roll themselves down the hall way to come to the service Pastor Jones held on the opposite side
of the building. The administrator began to ask the residents what was going on and they replied,
“ We feel the hand of God in the services with Pastor Jones, and would like to worship in her service”.
Pastor Jones expressed that all were taken back as they witnessed the presence of God
in service.
St. Joseph- Services went well; more than 30 residents and 2 C.N.A’s were in attendance for
service. Pastor Jones ministered on the subject matter of striving toward Salvation. Pastor Jones
expressed all that were in attendance really enjoyed service. Pastor Jones expressed that the
C.N.A’s began to ask questions regarding salvation and how to become closer to God. Once the
C.N.A’s began to ask questions the residents asked for pen and paper so that they may write
down the scriptures for themselves so that they may study them. After teaching, Pastor Jones
conducted prayer in which the Spirit of God fell and many began to rejoice in the Spirit of the
Lord
Week III
Utica- 40 plus residents and 3 C.N.A’s were in attendance for service. Pastor Jones expressed
that the residents have taken it upon themselves to ensure that they are prepared and ready for
service. Pastor Jones explained that many of the residents enjoy service so much that they have
been persuading staff to attend more regularly. Pastor Jones expressed that every time she
ministers at this facility there are obstacles, but God blesses every time and has His way.
St. Joseph- 35 residents and 2 C.N.A’s were in attendance for service. Pastor Jones began to
teach part-two of a message that was requested by staff regarding salvation. Staff requested that
Pastor Jones highlight key scripture regarding baptism and the Spirit of the Lord. Pastor Jones
expressed that the staff and the residents have been working together to write down all the
scriptures so that that they may study. Many residents and several staff have already made
preparations to attend church service at Pastor Jones church.
Ambassador- 20 residents and 2 C.N.A’s were present for service. Pastor Jones taught on the
subject matter of “renewing your faith in God”. All who were in attendance really enjoyed the
message as the Spirit of God fell during the service. Pastor Jones explained that many of the
residents began rejoicing in the Spirit and she is now awaiting permission for several residents to
be baptized.
Sis Lou Ann Stewart
Week 1
Mt. Vernon Home visit was very successful. There were about 7 in attendance there for service.
Evangelist Stewart Led with Praise and Worship and kept the residents encouraged through her
gift of Song.
